We've designed this help system to be as intuitive as possible, but we realize you might have some questions about how to find all the information you need. Here are some of your most frequently asked questions. Just click to see the answer.
To search all occurrences of a term in the Help, use the Search field at the top of the page.
If you are searching for a phrase (example: "delete a project"), surround the phrase with quotation marks. Otherwise, all topics that contain either word will be included in the results.
On the Search Results page, click the title of the topic you wish to open, then use the sidebar menu to navigate to related topics.
By default, search results will include the entire help system. If you want to limit your search to only Help, FAQs, or Troubleshooting area, click the and select a filter from the dropdown menu. If a filter is active, the icon will be green: . To search the entire help system again, just click the icon and select All Files.
We use the following icons to call your attention to different types of information:
|The Security icon identifies the security level required to access a feature or function.|
|The Path icon identifies the access path to a feature or view. There may be more than one path to any given feature.|
|The Note icon identifies general notes; information that deserves to be called out for special attention.|
|The Warning icon identifies information which, if disregarded, might have unexpected or negative consequences.|
|The Tip icon identifies helpful hints or any information will make using Autotask easier or simpler.|
|The Predecessor Task icon identifies one or more steps that you have to complete before proceeding. This icon is used to help you avoid trying to execute a process only to find out that you should have completed another step first.|
|The Example icon identifies examples, best practices, and use cases.|
|The Video icon identifies a link to a video.|
|The .PDF icon identifies a link to a printable .pdf file.|
When you enter a glossary term into the search box and click the search icon, a definition of the term appears at the top of the search results. You can also open the entire glossary from the Resources menu at the top of the help page.
