The File ID is a unique identification number that references a specific file or folder. Providing this ID allows us to immediately locate the appropriate information and is also easier to reference than a long file path. As file or folder names may not be unique the File ID also ensures we correctly identify the file or folder.
NOTE If you provide a File ID when you contact us for help, it will allow us to provide support more quickly.
How to...
Locate the file ID
- Login to Workplace Online.
- Navigate to the file or folder for which you want to find the File ID.
NOTE An alternative method is to right-click on the file synced to your computer and select Open Workplace Here to go directly to the correct location.
- At the end of the URL you will see an entry, either "folderid=xxxxxxx" or "fileid=xxxxxxx" Make a note of the ID:
