The ability for a file to convert depends on the size of the file. Native Video Playback
Workplace Online has the ability to play back videos within your web browser using Adobe Flash, rather than requiring the video to be converted prior to playback. This allows for MP4 and 3GP video types to be played without delay, and without the 20 minute limitation when converting videos. If the file is not supported by the web browser, the previous capabilities remain available; to convert the first 20 minutes as a preview or to download/sync the file.
When attempting to play videos via the native video playback feature, the option to convert the video will always be available:
Converted video files are limited to 1GB. Video files that use native video playback are not limited in size. If Workplace is able to play back a video in your browser, it will do so automatically. Otherwise, the video will be converted and size limits apply.
Videos will be locally cached when using the native video playback feature. Video files may take up a large amount of space on your local hard drive. Your browser cache can be emptied to release this storage space.
